International Biogeography Society

The International Biogeography Society, founded in 2001, is the primary forum for biogeographers worldwide. Its mission is to foster communication and collaboration between biogeographers in disparate academic fields, increase both the awareness and interests of the scientific community and the lay public in the contributions of biogeographers, and promote the training and education of biogeographers so that they may develop sound strategies for studying and conserving the world’s biota. Website

Latinamerican Network for the Study of Neotropical Biogeography (Red-BioN).

An interdisciplinary academic group dedicated to exchange and further development of scientific knowledge on biogeographic patterns and evolutionary processes related to biodiversity and ecosystems, considering potential threats, scenarios of climate change and deforestation in the Neotropics. We promote regional collaboration and strengthen alliances in the development of scientific research, workshops, courses, academic publications and events, knowledge communication, regional expertise and the development of technology from members along Latinamerica. Instituto BIOSFERA-USFQ

An interdisciplinary institute that aims to conduct scientific research in a wide range of academic subjects and across different types of ecosystems of the biosphere, at both national and international scale. Its goal is to contribute to the generation of knowledge, management, conservation and restoration of diverse species and ecosystems, and proposes a holistic vision that takes into account ecological, evolutionary, technical, social, cultural, legal and economic aspects.
