Workshop Fellowships (application deadline: April 30th, 2019)

These fellowships are available to students and professionals enrolled in Latin American Institutions or from historically underrepresented groups in the biological sciences. Fellowships will cover meeting registration fees and workshop fees for the following workshops:

  • Methods for inferring biogeographic history from distinct lines of evidence: genetic, environmental niche, and fossil.
  • Wallace, a modular software for modeling species niches and distributions: tour of the workflow and extending functionality with custom R functions.

Applicants are requested to send a “Letter of interest” to humboldt.meeting@gmail.com with the subject “Workshop Fellowship” expressing the relevance of the workshop for their academic career. No oral or poster presentation is required to apply to this fellowship.

Meeting Registration Fellowships (application deadline: April 30th, 2019)

These fellowships are available to students and professionals enrolled in Latin American Institutions. Applicants are requested to: 1) Upload the abstract of the oral presentation through the meeting website. 2) Send a “Letter of interest” to humboldt.meeting@gmail.com, with the subject “Meeting Registration Fellowship” expressing the relevance of the meeting for your academic career.

TNC Fellowship: Research on Andean Freshwater Systems (application deadline: April 30th, 2019)

These fellowships are available to students and professionals working on the biogeography or conservation of Andean freshwater systems in Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru.  Applicants are requested to: 1) Upload the abstract of the oral presentation in the meeting website. 2) Send a message to humboldt.meeting@gmail.com, with the subject “TNC Fellowship” expressing your interest to be considered for this fellowship. This fellowship will cover meeting registration fees and hotel accommodation from August 5th to 9th (5 nights).  Accommodation will be arranged by the meeting organizers in a convenient location.

GIZ: CoCiBio Fellowship  (application deadline: June 30th, 2019)

A total of four  fellowships are available thanks to CoCiBio project (Cooperación para la investigación orientada a la aplicación sobre biodiversidad y cambio climático), through the Germany-Ecuador cooperation program. These fellowships are available to Ecuadorian students. Applicants are requested to send a message to humboldt.meeting@gmail.com, with the subject “GIZ Fellowship” expressing your interest and justification to be considered for this fellowship. Fellowships will cover the totality of meeting registration fees.

 

Fellowships of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany (application deadline: June 30th, 2019)

These fellowships are available for Latin American and German (or affiliated to a German Institution) students and professionals. In order to apply, you should: 1) Upload the abstract of your presentation into our website. (2) Send a message to humboldt.meeting@gmail.com, with the subject “German Fellowship” expressing your interest and justification to be considered for this fellowship. Fellowships will cover plane tickets and, in few cases, accommodation.
